Statewide #NHBanksGiveBack Month of Service by Banks in NH a Success
Concord, NH -- New Hampshire Bankers Association organized its fourth annual month of service event (tagged #NHBanksGiveBack on social media) during the month of October to highlight the collective efforts by New Hampshire’s banking industry to support local communities through community service and financial support. 30 member banks participated in this coordinated volunteer month of service where they are asked to engage in one or more of their regularly scheduled community service efforts.
In its fourth year, this event continues to capture the heart of our banks in NH – supporting their communities. “Our member banks and their employees serve their communities every day—not just by providing small business loans or helping people buy their first homes, but also through community service and financial support. NH’s banking industry continues to demonstrate its strong commitment to civic leadership and community engagement,” said Kristy Merrill, President & CEO of NH Bankers Association.
Over and above our #NHBanksGiveBack event during the month of October, we recognize the efforts of our members who supported their communities in Vermont during this summer’s devastating flooding. For example, Passumpsic Bank moved quickly responding to the needs of the community impacted by the flooding in Vermont. Passumpsic Bank alone donated over $49,000 to support many funds and efforts during this particularly devastating natural disaster.
"We take pride in serving our region as a community bank, so we embrace our responsibility to serve our neighbors in need when they need it most," said Jim Kisch, President and CEO of Passumpsic Bank. “While natural disasters are unpredictable, what is predictable is that when times are tough, the people and businesses of this region will rally, support each other, and overcome adversity.”
